RYSK Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

RYSK BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU is a school where you can get holistic and unique training exercises in Jiu-Jitsu for the mind and body. The school is located in Laguna Hills, CA and it aims to become the premier BJJ school in the South Orange County.

The RYSK BJJ School has a spacious area to learn and practice the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Whatever your skill or fitness level, you train with peers for a truly satisfying workout experience. There are classes designed for children, for men as well as for women.

RYSK is managed by BJJ black belt and champion, Chico Lima. A Brazilian who focuses on training those who want to learn and be masters of BJJ. The school offers structured classes and open mat sessions.

The RYSK BJJ School pay particular attention to the needs of students, working with them on the skills that are most important. Besides traditional BJJ classes, there is an open mat time for kickboxing and self-defense practice. If you want to start training, visit or speak to our instructor, Chico Lima, to assist in determining the best placement for your first call.

I drive 30-45 minutes to get to classes because Professor Chico and Coach Vinny are amazing. My 3 kids and I come her to train and spend time with our RYSK family. My 6 year old started 6 months ago and loves it. Studying martial arts for over a decade you learn to see through the BS. Professor Chico is the real deal and the instruction and skills professor Chico is imparting to my child will benefit him for the rest of his life. He is a kind, and patient person with no ego. Rysk may be the newest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Orange County and while I am new to Rysk I am not new to BJJ or Professor Chico. Both my son and I have trained under Professor Chico for a few years now, so when Chico decided to open Rysk I enthusiastically joined. Professor Chico's approach to teaching Jiu-Jitsu is simply outstanding - for every technique you don't just learn the "how" (how to do it), you also learn the "why" (the underlying mechanical principles that make the technique work). Details are always conveyed, the Professor Chico makes sure his students learn and apply these details. Chico's passion for Jiu-Jitsu shines through, and you really feel like you have someone teaching you who cares about your success as a student. I've watched Professor Chico teach Jiu-Jitsu to kids of all ages (including my son), and this is another area where Chico excels. Chico teaches kids in a way they can relate to, and his kids classes are just the right mix of fun, focus, discipline, and positive re-enforcement.
